by Neil on Aug.10, 2010, under In The Press

GENEROUS strangers have come to the aid of a Huddersfield charity that was hit by thieves.

As reported on Wednesday, Alan and Lorraine Salmon’s Edgerton home was burgled overnight on Monday.

One of the items snatched was a laptop holding the accounts of Marsh charity The Joseph Salmon Trust. Mr Salmon is a treasurer for the charity.

The trust was started in 2008 by his son and daughter-in-law, Neil and Rachael Salmon, whose three-year-old son, Joseph, died as a result of pneumonia in 2005.

It helps other families in Huddersfield and Mirfield who have lost children pay for funeral and related costs.

Neil Salmon pleaded for the ASUS Netbook computer to be returned.

But now a couple from Marsden have offered to pay for the charity to get a replacement laptop.
