A look back at 2009

by Neil on Dec.31, 2009, under General Information

As we approach 2010, we would like to thank all our friends and fundraisers for all their support during 2009. It’s been a very busy year for the Charity, and you’ll be able to read all about it in our next Newsletter which should be out during January. Thanks to a Grassroots Grant, we managed to expand into Mirfield this year, which has enabled us to reach more people.  As demand for our help grows, we’d love more of you to get involved in fundraising in 2010. We’re sure you’ll have lots of ideas, so get in touch with us! 2009 also saw us joined by two new Trustees, Helen and Dan. We’re really pleased to have them on board for what will be a very busy year for us.

We’ve had lots of successful fundraising events too this year – ones that stand out include our Comedy Night at the Peacock Lounge, Garden Party in Mirfield, Curry Night at the Shama and Casino Night at the Marsh Liberal Club.

We’ve also been very lucky to have the support of so many businesses. We’re grateful to TK Maxx for taking over from ITV in paying our running costs enabling every penny raised to go to the families who need it most. We’re also supported by Splitpixel Creative, who designed this fabulous website, Google Grants, Applicances Direct and NG Bailey.

In addtion we’re supported by some wonderful local businesses, including; The Station Buffet, Don’t Forget, All About Flowers, Whiteheads Greengrocers, The Skin Body and Beauty Clinic, Barden Print, Amanda Clarke…and many many more.

So as 2009 draws to a close, all that is left is for us to wish you all a Happy and Peaceful New Year and we look forward to meeting with you all in 2010.

Look out for our Newsletter and keep reading our Website – it’s now updated regularly with all our news. Also add us on Twitter and Facebook by clicking on the logos on the right.
