Examiner Charity Challenge gets venues boost

TWO new locations will feature in this year’s Examiner Charity Challenge.
And organisers of the huge event hope that that will add to the attraction of the day.
The 21st annual Challenge, planned for Sunday, May 23, is to be based at its now traditional home at Meltham Sports and Community Centre.
It will again offer walks of differing lengths, bike rides and Nordic walking for hundreds of people aiming to raise cash for a charity of their choice.
But to freshen up the event, organisers from the Lions Club have arranged for new venues for the toddler and wheelchair walks and for the horse riders.
The walks will be in Beaumont Park, rather than around Blackmoorfoot reservoir and horse riders will set off on different routes from The Crossroads pub, halfway between New Mill and Shepley.
Lions Charity Challenge chairman Martin Richardson revealed details of the event at a briefing for officials and volunteers at the Laund Hill YMCA, Salendine Nook.
